TNMU Wins the Competition “Engage a Researcher from Ukraine in an Ongoing Research Project”
The research team of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University won the competition “Engage a Researcher from Ukraine in an Ongoing Research Project,” organized within the framework of the RCN–NFFU Partnership Initiative 2025.
As a result of the selection process, TNMU joined the international research project “Creating Healthy Food Environments in Schools: Evaluating Co-Created Approaches,” implemented by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
Participants in the project from Ukraine, including representatives of TNMU, are Professor Oleksandr Kamyshnyi, Associate Professor Iryna Halabitska, and Associate Professor Pavlo Petakh.

The project focuses on a systematic scientific analysis of dietary practices and the formation of healthy food environments among young people. The research involves the integration of psychophysiological, immunological, and biochemical indicators to assess the relationship between nutrition and manifestations of PTSD and stress responses, including the potential modulation of inflammatory processes. Special attention is given to studying the impact of the food environment on cognitive, emotional, and behavioral parameters in youth, enabling the development of scientifically grounded, interdisciplinary recommendations for programs that support psychophysiological health and immune homeostasis.
