Director of the TNMU Institute of Nursing Participates in a Regional Meeting on the Implementation of Strategic Directions for Nursing Development
On December 9, 2025, a regional meeting entitled “Ways to Implement the Strategic Directions of Nursing” was held in Kyiv, bringing together representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, medical education institutions, healthcare practice, and the professional nursing community from various regions of Ukraine.

The event focused on discussing practical mechanisms for implementing the Framework Document “Strategic Directions for the Development of Nursing” at the regional level and on defining specific steps for implementing the Nursing Development Roadmap for 2025–2027. Particular attention was paid to the development of nursing education, leadership within the profession, and the strengthening of nurses’ roles in the healthcare delivery system.

In the opening part of the meeting, presentations were delivered by representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and профиль institutions, including Serhii Ubohov, Head of the Department of Medical Personnel, Education and Science of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine; Kateryna Komar, Director of the State Institution “Center for Nursing Development of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”; Olena Nykonchuk, Director General of the State Enterprise “Testing Center under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”; and Polina Huk, WHO Nursing and Midwifery Specialist.

Within the strategic direction “Education,” a joint consolidated presentation was delivered with the participation of Liubov Bilyk, Vice-Rector of Cherkasy Medical Academy; Svitlana Danchak, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University; Svitlana Hordiichuk, Acting Rector of Zhytomyr Medical Institute of the Zhytomyr Regional Council; and Tetiana Pastryk, Acting Rector of the Volyn Medical Institute of the Volyn Regional Council. The participants presented a coordinated vision for developing nursing education and workforce training aligned with the current needs of the healthcare system.

During the meeting, other strategic directions for nursing development were also addressed, practical experience was shared, and proposals were developed to implement strategic decisions at the community and regional levels.

The regional meeting became an important platform for professional dialogue, strengthening cooperation between education, healthcare practice, and public authorities, as well as for forming a shared vision for the further development of nursing in Ukraine.
