The Institute of Nursing at TNMU Has Upgraded Its Material and Technical Base with Modern Simulation Equipment

The Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University continues to develop international cooperation to improve the practical training of students and healthcare professionals.

Thanks to support from partners in Belgium, the Institute of Nursing has received state-of-the-art training equipment—a labor island (delivery room island) —which will be used in the simulation training center to prepare future nurses and doctors.

The equipment was donated by AZ Saint Lucas Hospital (Ghent, Belgium) to the charitable organization VZW “Stay Safe”. For several months, transportation arrangements were underway, as the equipment weighs over 450 kg and requires special transport conditions. Thanks to the efforts of the partners, in particular Conny Vervynck and Dr. Günter Constandt, the labor island was successfully delivered to Ukraine and handed over to the Institute of Nursing at TNMU.

The labor island has already been installed in the simulation training center of Ternopil National Medical University and integrated into the educational process. It will be actively used during simulation scenarios and practical classes that replicate real clinical situations. This allows both future nurses and practicing specialists to improve their professional skills in conditions as close as possible to real medical practice.

The Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing expresses sincere gratitude to its international partners and charitable organizations for their invaluable support, fruitful cooperation, and significant contribution to the development and modernization of medical education in Ukraine, particularly in supporting and sustainably developing nursing, implementing modern educational technologies, and improving the quality of practical training for medical professionals.
