TNMU Medical Students Teach Schoolchildren About a Healthy Heart

On February 11, 2026, medical students of group MM-203 — Khrystyna Mykhailyshyn and Karyna Veremeichuk — with the support of Associate Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy Anton Hantimurov, and Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages Nataliia Hantimurova, organized an engaging and informative lesson at TNVK “School-Lyceum No. 6 named after Nazariy Yaremchuk” for students of class 5-V on the topic “The Heart — the Engine of Our Body.”

During the lesson, the students explained in an accessible and interactive way where the heart is located and its size, why it is a vital organ, what it consists of, and how it functions. The schoolchildren learned that the heart is a resilient muscle that continuously pumps blood, supplying the body with oxygen and energy. Special attention was given to the concept of pulse, its significance, and the differences between children and adults.

An equally important part of the lesson included advice on maintaining heart health: proper nutrition, physical activity, adequate sleep, and a positive emotional attitude. The material was supplemented with interesting facts and questions, in which the pupils actively participated, demonstrating interest and good knowledge. A friendly and relaxed atmosphere prevailed throughout the session.

We sincerely thank the class teacher Nadiia Zuziak, the students and the administration of Nazariy Yaremchuk School-No. 6 for their hospitality, and the students for their professionalism, initiative, and inspiration with which they share their knowledge. Such educational initiatives foster schoolchildren’s interest in medicine and promote a healthy lifestyle.
