TNMU Faculty and Students Joined the National Day of Prayer

February 24 is observed in Ukraine as the National Day of Prayer, symbolizing spiritual unity and prayer for victory. It was on this very day in 2022 that the lives of Ukrainians were divided into “before” and “after” the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

On February 24, 2026, faculty members and students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University prayed for victory and for all those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.

TNMU Chaplain Father Ihor Drapak conducted a memorial service with prayers asking that all fallen defenders receive God’s mercy and that their souls find peace. He also reminded those present that honoring Ukraine’s heroes is an essential component of fostering national consciousness and unity.

The event concluded with the collective performance of Ukraine’s spiritual hymn, “Bozhe Velykyi, Yedynyi” (“O Great and Almighty God”). The solemn words of the prayer for Ukraine once again underscored the importance of unity within the medical community and across the nation during these challenging times.
