Winners of the Olympiad in “Medical Chemistry” and “Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry” Announced
At I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the academic disciplines “Medical Chemistry” and “Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry” was held at the Department of General Chemistry.

A total of 20 first-year students from the medical and dental faculties participated in the “Medical Chemistry” Olympiad (organized by Associate Professor Hryhorii Zahrychuk and Associate Professor Oksana Kachur). The participants completed both test-based and creative tasks, which involved solving chemical problems, writing reaction equations, and performing multi-step calculations with practical applications in medicine.

Based on the results of the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in “Medical Chemistry,” the following winners were determined according to their scores:
Sofiia Trofymchuk (MM-104), Oleh Shkrobot (MM-102), Valeriia Dziubynska (MM-104), Tetiana Markova (MM-118), Olesia Burlatska (MM-102), Yustyna Pyptyk (MM-105).

In the Olympiad in “Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry,” 13 students from the medical and dental faculties (1st and 2nd years) took part. The organizers, Associate Professors Iryna Bekus and Mariia Kyryliv, prepared two-level tasks designed to assess knowledge and the ability to solve non-standard problems in biological and bioorganic chemistry. The tasks included both test and creative components, focusing on analyzing the relationship between the structure of bioorganic compounds and the metabolic processes occurring in the human body.

According to the results of the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in “Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry,” the following winners were determined based on their scores:
Valentyna Tumanova (MM-204), Anastasiia Serdeha (MM-220), Anastasiia Oryshniuk (MM-209), Roman Lishchuk (MM-204), Stanislav Stepanitskyi (MM-213), Oleksandr Sarabun (MM-119).

The results of the Olympiad demonstrated a strong professional level of student preparation and a high degree of practical skills development.
