The Future of Medicine Begins at TNMU

On March 28, 2026, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University warmly welcomed hundreds of prospective students and their parents. The event became a true immersion into the profession even before submitting applications.

Before the official part began, the hall in front of the assembly room turned into a large place for master classes. Applicants had the opportunity to:

  • learn basic emergency first aid skills;
  • explore the mysteries of the micro-world through histological materials;
  • observe chemical experiments;
  • try themselves in the role of dentists.

These interactive locations were organized by:

Professor Larysa Fedoniuk, Head of the Department of Medical Biology;

Senior Lecturer Violetta Kulbitska;

Associate Professor Tetiana Kucher;

Assistant Nestor Trach;

Associate Professor Liudmyla Patskan.

In the hall, the Rector of TSMU, Professor Petro Lykhatskyi, addressed the audience. He explained the advantages of studying at the university, emphasizing its modern facilities and high educational standards.

Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee Oksana Lebid provided clear explanations about the 2026 admission rules and practical advice on how to prioritize applications correctly to avoid losing the chance to study at a desired university.

The heads of faculties spoke about the specifics of studying:

  • Svitlana Kucher – Dean of the Medical Faculty;
  • Svitlana Boitsaniuk – Dean of the Dental Faculty;
  • Dmytro Korobko – Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pharmacy;
  • Svitlana Danchak – Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing.

Speakers emphasized the university’s international recognition, opportunities for internships abroad, and the creation of a safe educational environment.

Student life and opportunities to influence university development were presented by the Head of the Student Parliament, Oleksandr Mihenko, and his deputy, Sofiia Berehuliak.

An Open Day is an opportunity to communicate directly with future applicants and their parents, present educational programs and achievements, guide applicants through admission procedures, and show the university “from the inside.”

After the meeting, all interested participants, accompanied by student mentors, visited the simulation training center, the dental faculty, the Institute of Pharmacy, and the anatomical museum in the morphological building.
