Representatives of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pharmacy Participated in the VIII International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference

On April 10, 2026, representatives of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pharmacy of TNMU — Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Svitlana Marchyshyn; Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Liudmyla Slobodianiuk; Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Liliia Budniak; Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Dakhym; and Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Olha Demydiuk — took part in the VIII International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference titled “Modern Achievements of Pharmaceutical Science in the Development and Standardization of Medicines and Dietary Supplements Containing Natural Components.” The conference was organized by the Department of Pharmacognosy and Nutritiology of the National University of Pharmacy.

The conference brought together scientists from 9 countries: Ukraine, Moldova, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. In total, 27 foreign institutions and 14 research organizations from Europe, as well as 25 higher and professional education institutions and 16 research institutions from Ukraine, participated in the event.

The conference covered key stages in the development, research, and implementation of medicines and dietary supplements based on medicinal plant raw materials, including:

  • analysis of the market of herbal medicines, dietary supplements, therapeutic and preventive, and cosmetic products;
  • search for new sources of plant raw materials for the development of medicines and dietary supplements;
  • standardization of medicines and their pharmaceutical analysis;
  • modern approaches to the technology of herbal medicines;
  • analysis of extemporaneous medicinal forms based on plant-derived components;
  • pharmacological studies of herbal medicines and safety assessment of dietary supplements.

The researchers presented the results of their studies, conducted at a modern scientific level, demonstrating strong potential for practical implementation in pharmacy.

As part of the conference, an educational roundtable meeting of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Nutritiology was held, serving as the core department for the educational component “Pharmacognosy” within the educational and professional programs “Technologies of Perfumery and Cosmetic Products” and “Clinical Pharmacy.” The meeting was attended by representatives of related departments from I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Bohomolets National Medical University, Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Nizhyn Mykola Hohol State University, and Odesa National Medical University.

During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to updating the list of medicinal plants and plant raw materials studied within the “Pharmacognosy” component in accordance with the State Pharmacopeia of Ukraine (2.0–2.8). As a result of the discussion, it was concluded that this issue is highly relevant and requires further in-depth consideration.
