Regular Meeting of the Academic Council at TNMU

On May 26, 2026, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of TNMU was held under the chairmanship of Professor Mykhailo Korda.

Before the meeting began, in a ceremonial setting, the Rector of the University, Professor Petro Lykhatskyi, presented a diploma and commemorative medal to Professor Alla Boychuk, Honored Professor of TNMU and recipient of the I.Ya. Horbachevsky Medal.

Professor Lykhatskyi also presented associate professor certificates to:

The Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Oleksandra Oleshchuk, presented the results of the competition for the Ivan Horbachevsky Prize.

Based on the expert evaluation of research works submitted by university scholars for the Ivan Horbachevsky Prize, the expert commission (established by Rector’s Order No. 238 dated April 24, 2026) reached the following conclusions:

In the category “Achievements in Research Activities in Social Sciences and Humanities”, the winning work was “Formation of the Legal Component of Professional Identity of Future Healthcare Specialists in Ukraine” by N.M. Kalyniuk and N.V. Humenna.

In the category “Achievements in Research Activities in Theoretical Medicine and Pharmacy”, the winning work was recognized as “Results of Ixodid Tick Research and Their Importance in Maintaining Public Health” by L.Ya. Fedoniuk and S.S. Podobivskyi.

In the category “Achievements in Research Activities in Clinical Medicine and Dentistry”, the winning work was “Genetic Determinants of Disease Severity and Endocrine Consequences of COVID-19 and Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children” by H.A. Pavlyshyn and K.V. Kozak.

Competition matters were presented by the Academic Secretary, Professor Illia Herasymiuk.

Following the results of the secret ballot:

Associate Professor Marta Zalizniak was elected Head of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry.

Professor Vitalii Shcherba was elected Head of the Department of Dentistry of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education.

Professor Tetiana Bakaliuk was elected Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation.

By secret ballot, the academic title of Associate Professor was awarded to:

Lina Bahnii — Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2.

Iryna Yavorska — Department of Higher Nursing Education, Patient Care, and Clinical Immunology;

Oksana Prokopchuk — Department of Higher Nursing Education, Patient Care, and Clinical Immunology;

Oleh Shmanko — Department of Clinical Pharmacy;

The topic “Organization of Practical Training, Approval of Plans and Training Bases” was presented by the Head of the Student Practical Training Department, Associate Professor Maksym Herasymiuk.

The report of the Administrative and Maintenance Department for the 2025–2026 academic year, along with the approval of plans for major and current repairs, was delivered by the Vice-Rector for Science, Education and Social Affairs, Professor Oleh Slabyi.
