AI in Medicine: Preparation by Getting Familiar with the Real Medical Data
What are the most important barriers for the implementation of the newest techniques for the research and development of medicine? What you need to know in order to be able to propose and develop innovative solutions in the field of MedTech?
Wroclaw Medical University (WMU) completed a 3-year training program entitled HeartBIT_4.0: Application of innovative Medical Data Science technologies for heart diseases (https://heartbit40.com/). As a result we gained an unique experience resulting from direct confrontations between medics and data scientists and we know that the very first step of the merge between medicine & data science is getting familiar with the nature and diversity of medical data.
Thus, we invite to join our initiative in a form of Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme – AI in medicine: preparation by getting familiar with the real medical data, which will include:
– a series of online meetings during which we plan to show you samples of medical data sources (with their quality in the context of data science). This will help you understand why medical data often seems complicated and/or incomplete (or messy!).
– a meeting in Wroclaw (planned for June 2024) with plenty of discussions with medical staff, who have an experience in cooperation with data scientists.
Who can apply: IT / data science students. All activities will be performed in English.
Confirmation: you will receive the certificate of participation in the event for both virtual and in person presence. Your certificate will validate the 3 ECTS points for this event, that you can use for your further education.
Note that obtaining confirmation of participation in the course
(and receiving ECTS points) requires participation in both: the online and offline parts!
