TNMU students have won the Regional stage of the 10th Taras Shevchenko International Competition

Regional stage of the 10th Taras Shevchenko International Student Competition has been recently held. This international language and literature contest was launched by Presidential Decree on September 30, 2010. Its purpose is to honor this outstanding poet, to find new talents, to cultivate respect for the traditions of the nation, to increase the level of linguistic culture.

Each year, a large number of pupils and students participate in the competition, which is divided by age and specialty. The tasks for each age category are different. Typically, they include writing of an argument essay, an essay about the work of the famous poet. This year, students wrote a letter in which they had to prove that Taras Shevchenko successfully combined the traits of a talented poet and an artist. So the participants had to show that they were competent in both T.Shevchenko’s literature heritage and grammar.

TNMU students has become the winners of the Regional stage of the competition.

Andriana Saluk, a first-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, received the first-degree diploma, Viktoriia Lehka, a first-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, received the second-degree diploma. Professors of the Ukrainian Language Department V. Yukalo and I. Zalipska promoted the participation of our students in the competition.
