TNMU contributed in the diagnosis of patients with coronavirus infection
Last week, Ternopil National Medical University contributed to the work of Ternopil Regional Laboratory Centre of the State Sanitary and Epidemiology Service of Ukraine by delegating one of the university workers to assist in the work of Centre and presenting modern equipment for temporary use.
Leading specialist of TNMU Interdepartmental Research Laboratory Olha Marchuk has a higher category in the specialty “Virology”. Specialization courses in this field were taken by our colleague at P. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education at the Department of Virology.
TNMU has presented for temporary use modern equipment that was used in the laboratory of polymerase-chain reaction at our university, in particular, “Rotor Gene 6000”, which operates in Real-time PCR mode, providing simultaneous process of amplification and hybridization-fluorescence detection in real time, and other necessary materials. Thus, every team of virologists working in Ternopil Regional Laboratory Centre performs their work from start to finish and is not dependent on each other. This greatly increases the speed and amount of PCR studies
