Equipment Provided to TNMU within the Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Development of Medical Education” has been being Successfully Involved in Distance Learning

I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University has joined the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Development of Medical Education”. At the end of August 2020, TNMU received technical support from the project managers: i.e. laptops, monitors, TVs, webcams, multimedia speakers, tripods, microphones, extension cords, and software in order to provide more effective distance learning.

All this equipment has been being used in current university educational process since the beginning of the academic year. The equipment is involved during lectures and practical classes, research and training online conferences, meetings of TNMU Academic Board, administrations etc.

Two years ago, Ternopil Medical University won a competition to join this project in two areas: general practice of family medicine and nurses training. The project was launched by the Swiss Institute of Tropical Medicine and Public Health with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Its main task is to assist universities in implementation of educational innovations within the reform of medical education by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It is aimed at medical universities, where future general practitioners and family doctors are trained, as well as heads of institutions for primary medical care. The project also covers medical educational institutions for nurses: nursing schools, colleges, faculties, institutes.
