Conference “Medical and Social Aspects of Tuberculosis” was Held Online in TNMU

The Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of TNMU organized an online student research and training conference on “Medical and social aspects of tuberculosis” on March 24, 2021. On this day the German microbiologist Robert Koch announced the discovery of the causative agent of tuberculosis. That is why since March 24, 1993, according to the decision of the WHO, it has been declared the World TB Day. The conference focused on topical issues of overcoming this dangerous communicable disease.

Second-year students of the Faculty of Medicine took part in the conference. They presented interesting and informative reports that covered the immunopathogenetic aspects of the disease, the issue of multidrug resistance, current methods of diagnosis and prevention of tuberculosis.

Student research conferences has been being traditionally helt at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology since it stimulates students to creative mastery of knowledge and enhances the learning process.
