International Students of TNMU Organized a Charity Photo Exhibition
The AFRO PhotoFest Charity Exhibition and Pakistani bake sale was held on April 9, 2021 at the yard of the administrative building of TNMU. It was organized by the MedVoice-TNMU project members: Addo Maame Akosua Agyarkobea (Group IM544), Akinlade Omobayo Abdulsalam (Group IM544), Oluwateniola Ladi-Williams (Group IM331) and ViktoriiaYurkiv (Group MM207), with the assistance of the whole team and supervisor, Associate Professor Olena Pokryshko, the deputy director for the Department of Educational work and Cultural Development.
This African themed charity photo shoot exhibition was aimed to help raise funds to support the medical care of a 2 months old child of an International Student, who was born with congenital abnormalities and is in emergency care. The photo pictures were put on display for all to see and donate to their favourite photos. Before and during the event, an account was made available for donations, to which people sent in their contributions.
The Pakistani Students Federation of Ternopil joined hands to help raise funds by organizing a bake sale at the event as well. The sale was organised by Umar Farooq, Kainat Khawaja, Warda Arshadand Danish Mehmood; all students of TNMU. They were helped by their PSF members who cooked and baked delicious dishes. Among the cuisine were potato cutlets, samosas, carrot dessert, savoury chaat, cupcakes and even brownies! They were prepared at homes of PSF members: Sohaib Haider, Rida Sehar, Danish Mehmood, Talha Mehmood, Umar Farooq, Kainat Khawaja and Sehar Ali with the help of Mohammad Faizan, Nayab Hussain, TalhaTariq and Yahya Mustafa.

The fund raiser was a successful evening spent with people, who were willing to help. The crowd enjoyed performances by Success and Hubert Mikosza. The photo exhibition, set up by the African associations of TNMU, garnered a lot of viewers and they enjoyed treats by the Pakistani community while donating to their favourite photos. In the end, people went home with a full belly and light hearts, having both helped a child and enjoyed themselves.
This event was successful because of coordinated work of all structures of the university. Students express their gratitude to the administration, teachers and staff of TNMU for their support and indifference.
The proceeds from the event together with the Pakistani food sale amounted to 17,719 uah, 20 usd. An amount of 1,300 uah was also donated by the Polish Students’ Association after the event, giving a total of 19,019 uah, 20 usd so far.
