Conference at TNMU Joined General Practitioners of Family Medicine from all over Ukraine
On June 24-25, 2021, the online International Research and Training Conference “Topical issues of diagnosis, treatment, rational pharmacotherapy, prevention and rehabilitation in the practice of a family doctor” was held in I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University in cooperation with the Non-Governmental Organization “Association of Family Medicine of Ternopil Region”.
Professor Ivan Klishch, the Vice-Rector for Research, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, welcomed the participants of the conference. He wished success and fruitful work to the participants of the scientific meeting on behalf of Professor Mykhaylo Korda, the Rector of our University, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine.
Ivan Mykolaiovych show gratitude to Lilia Stepanivna and the NGO “Association of Family Medicine of Ternopil Region” for daily hard work, sharing experience and dissemination of information about scientific achievements among general practitioners of family medicine.
Professor Lilia Babinets, the Head of the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice of Family Medicine of TNMU, opened the plenary session and wished success to the participants of the scientific meeting: “Primary care is the basis of an effective health care system, because it can solve most problems related to trust, cooperation and care for the health of patients and their families. This approach ensures efficient use of available resources and high quality medical care. We work with teachers-practitioners, scientists, employees of our department and the NGO “Association of Family Medicine of Ternopil region” on constant self-improvement, training, sharing experience in regards of the health of our patients.”
Professor Ivan Katerenchuk, the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine No.2 of Poltava State Medical University presented a report on “Current diagnostic technologies – a way to standardize and personalize treatment”.
The report by Professor Lilia Babinets, the Head of the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice of Family Medicine of TNMU on “Comprehensive correction of functional disorders of the digestive system” was very interesting for the conference participants.
Oleksandr Moshchych, Professor of the Department of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and Phoniatrics of the P. Shupyk National University of Health of Ukraine, Expert of the State Expert (Pharmacological) Centre of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine expanded on “Possibilities and Prospects of Inflammation Optimization in Infectious and Somatic Pathology Medicine”.
The report on “Therapy and rehabilitation programs for chronic cerebral ischemia” was presented by Professor Lukian Andriuk, the Head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Alternative Medicine of D. Halytsky Lviv National Medical University.
Professor Olena Koloskova, the Head of the Department of Pediatrics and Children Infectious Diseases of Bukovynian State Medical University, shared her experience in treatment and prevention of respiratory viral infections in children.
Tetiana Solomenchuk, Professor of the Department of Family Medicine, D. Halytsky Lviv National Medical University reported on “Chronic kidney disease in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes: how to improve renal and vital prognosis”.
Professor Natalia Banadyha, the Head of the Department of Pediatrics of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, presented the report on “Present capabilities of primary care physicians in managing food allergies in children”.
The topical issues of “Integrated approach in the treatment of patients with chronic coronary heart disease: how to save the most valuable” were covered by Nadiia Yarema, Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine No.1 of TNMU.
The joint report on “Basic values in family medicine” was presented by the international team of authors: Associate Professor Pavlo Kolesnyk, the Head of the Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care, Uzhhorod National University, Sabine Bayen, Doctor of the University of Lille, France and Ivanna Shushman, Assistant Professor of the Department of Family Medicine and outpatient care of the Faculty of Medicine No.2 of Uzhhorod National University.
Natalia Prysiazhna, Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery and Transplantology of P. Shupyk National University of Health of Ukraine, expanded on current trends in the treatment of chronic venous diseases.
The report “How to report bad news? SPIKES protocol” was presented during the master classes by Iryna Borovyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice of Family Medicine of TNMU.
Andrii Mysak, Associate Professor of the L. Kovalchuk Department of Surgery No.1 and Urology of TNMU, presented a master class on “Hyperactive bladder in the practice of family medicine doctor”.
Ihor Khoruzhyi expanded on the main criteria for diagnosis and treatment of acute otitis media during the master class.
The report on “Obesity and Osteoarthritis: Solving Patient’s Problems” by Professor Liudmila Khimion, the Head of the Department of Family Medicine of the P. Shupyk National University of Health of Ukraine, was very interesting for the participants of the conference.
Professor Lilia Babinets presented the report on “COVID-19: early and late emotional and behavioural consequences”.
Leonid Hryshchuk, Professor of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine and Tuberculosis of TNMU, presented the report on “Peculiarities of COVID-19 Patients in the Phthisio-Pulmonology Centre”.
During the master class, Mykola Turchyn, Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology and Neurosurgery of TNMU, presented the report on “Current methods of diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma”.
Vasyl Kopcha, Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology, Dermatology and Venerology of TNMU, presented a master class on “Pathogenetic markers in the treatment of patients with COVID-19”.
Professor Lilia Babinets summed up the work of the plenary and sectional meetings, expressed gratitude to the university management for assistance and all conference participants for fruitful and creative work.
The format of the videoconference allowed presenting scientific achievements of the participants, and at the same time it was a platform for scientific discussion, joint viewing and fruitful discussion of videos and presentations.
