TNMU Volunteer Centre Received 2000 Approved Tourniquets
Thanks to our teachers Oksana and Petro Kuziv, Ternopil National Medical University now works closely with the EBRD Community Initiative Ukraine Charity. Their son Liubomyr Kuziv initiated the support of Ukraine at the international level and announced a fundraiser to purchase those tools that save lives on the battlefield.

This organization, together with the State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine” seeks and provides the necessary medicines, medical supplies, essential equipment. Recently, thanks to EBRD Community Initiative Ukraine Charity and with the assistance of Liubomyr Kuziv, TNMU received more than 2,000 approved tourniquets, which will soon be handed over to the military officers. In addition, the representatives of our university and charity organization are discussing the possibility of supplying other necessary components for military first aid kits and providing first aid kits according to NATO standards.
On the page (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lyubomyr-kuziv/?fbclid=IwAR0ZVkBdfB2YQG383aWa3cHd1YYpIk60K0—6uo3zb-wf_doIeum4AyQhA), Liubomyr Kuziv mentioned: “The funds will be used to purchase medicines and medical equipment from suppliers in the UK and Europe. Now the focus is on first aid. We work closely with the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to ensure compliance with the needs at the local level and additional donors.
With the funds raised, we have already purchased and delivered 845 units of homeostatic gauze (Celox) for a total of 30,000 pounds. We are completing the purchase of 650 first aid kits for a total of € 81,900 and co-financing another 1,000 first aid kits worth $ 52,000 with British-Ukrainian assistance. Procurement is carried out by the Charitable Organization of Ukraine and distributed with the assistance of the Ukrainian Medical Association of Great Britain. This fundraiser is part of a public initiative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
