Ukrainian Language for the Guests of TNMU
Course on in-depth study of the Ukrainian language for temporarily displaced people from the central and eastern regions of Ukraine has been launched at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. Dozens of our guests came to the first classes on May 2 and 5, which were conducted by the Head of the Ukrainian Language Department, Professor Anatolii Vykhrushch and the Teacher of the Department Solomia Hnatyshyn.

Attendees read poems by Lina Kostenko, studied the text “Desiderata”, which for almost a hundred years helps people overcome difficulties. They got acquainted with a selection of Ukrainian-language films, cartoons, YouTube channels and Instagram blogs for children and adults, which will also help increase vocabulary. The needs of the participants were recorded and will be gradually addressed.

Teachers of TNMU Ukrainian Language Department will conduct these classes in the form of casual communication and interesting dialogue.

Classes will be held twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays at 10 am, in the form of practical classes at the Dormitory №3 of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University at Ternopil, Kotsiubynsky Street, 18-a.

A separate group for children will be created. The classes focus on everyday vocabulary, which will give people the opportunity to feel comfortable in Ternopil until the final victory over the invaders.

“I don’t know what tomorrow will be like, I don’t know if I will be able to return home. Today, I am in Ternopil and I need to somehow live on, look for a job, and to have more opportunities and for my own comfort, I understand that I need to start with the language”, says Yulia, a refugee from Siverskodonetsk.

Anyone, children, young people or the elderly, can join the groups and conquer new heights.
