TNMU Volunteer Centre Received Humanitarian Aid from German Dental Association

Despite the war, Ukrainian dentists continue providing medical aid in different parts of our country. The war disrupted the supply of basic medicines and medical devices essential for the work of dentists, who mostly provide emergency dental care. On May 11, 2022, the Volunteer Centre of TNMU received a humanitarian aid with medicines and medical supplies weighing 2,950 kg from the representative of the German Dental Association Klaus-Achim Surnman (Stiftung Hilfswerk Deutscher Zahnartzte). He managed to attract the members of the organization Pharmacists Without Borders Germany and Apotheker ohne Grenzen Deutschland, who did their best to deliver the necessary medicines.

German supporters also took care to provide a team of ambulance doctors, who now work in one of the “hot spots” of our country, with an ambulance car. Our university helped with the transportation of this car from Germany to Ukraine and will try to deliver this car to the forefront in the shortest possible time.

TNMU Professor Nataliia Hasiuk dealt with the logistics for this humanitarian aid. She is also a representative of the Ukrainian Dental Association.

“It is inspiring that today everyone is contributing to Ukraine’s victory. The Ukrainian Dental Association is looking for partners and like-minded people abroad. We have published announcements on our website about the urgent needs of our country and Ukrainian doctors, sent letters to foreign colleagues. Iryna Mazur, President of the Ukrainian Dental Association, plays an important role in the success of communication and receiving humanitarian aid. I am also deeply grateful to the administration of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, which provides maximum assistance in the transportation of humanitarian goods,” said Nataliia Hasiuk.
