Post-Graduate Student of TNMU Department of Medical Biochemistry Completed Internship as Part of Cedars – RECOOP Solidarity Fellowship (CRSF) Program

Ternopil National Medical University has been a member of the international research organization The Association for Regional Cooperation in the fields of Health, Science and Technology (RECOOP HST Association) since 2019. RECOOP is based at Cedars-Sinai, one of the largest scientific medical centers in the USA in Los Angeles.

The president and founder of the association, Dr. Sandor Vari, is an ardent supporter of Ukraine and Ukrainians in this difficult time of our resistance to the Russian invasion, and since the beginning of the war, he has been actively helping to bring our victory closer. In order to support Ukrainian scientists and give them the opportunity to work and continue research, Dr. Vary and the RECOOP HST Association established grants for young researchers RECOOP Solidarity Fellowship (CRSF). For six months, Anastasia Pak, a post-graduate student of the Department of Medical Biochemistry, completed an internship within the framework of this grant at the University of Debrecen (Hungary) in the Scientific Centre of Molecular Medicine. Laboratory research devoted to the study and analysis of glycan structures was carried out by Anastasia Pak under the supervision of senior researcher Anna Farkash and the scientific guidance of Professor András Gutman.

We express our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Sandor Vara and the RECOOP HST Association and Cedars-Sinai for their support, as well as the Administration and the Department of International Relations of Ternopil National Medical University.

Let us stay strong!
