TNMU Representatives Took Part in International Conference “First Year of Twinning: Resilience and Rebuilding”
On June 9, 2023, the international conference “Internationalization as the Key to Resilience and Rebuilding: First year of Twinning” took place in the assembly hall of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.
TNMU Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Ivan Klishch and the Head of Project Management Department, Professor Oksana Shevchuk represented Ternopil National Medical University.


The twinning partner of TNMU as part of the #TwinForHope campaign is the Medical School of the University of Manchester.
The twinning program was initiated by Cormack Consultancy Group together with The UK universities and Universities UK International. The main goal of Twinning is to preserve the integrity of the Ukrainian higher education system, help Ukrainian universities to emerge from the crisis with additional resources, skills and international experience. Twinning includes long-term cooperation (minimum 5 years) between participating institutions in order to promote a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership. Cormack Consultancy Group, together with universities in the UK, initiated the Twinning model, which allows international partners to offer individual support to each Ukrainian university.


The participants of the conference were welcomed by the Vice-Rector of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” Nataliia Chukhrai, the Head of the Association of British Universities Vivienne Stern, the representative of the President of Ukraine for the President’s Fund of Ukraine for the support of education, science and of sports Olha Budnyk, Hryhorii Mozolevych, representative of the Science and Innovation Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine, and Jamie Arrowsmith, head of the Association of Universities of Great Britain International.



During the conference, a brainstorming session took place: priorities, needs, future projects and ways for domestic and international cooperation, and a panel discussion “How can universities become drivers of regional and sectoral reconstruction?”.

The event was attended by representatives of Sumy State Agrarian University, V. Stefanyk Prykarpattia National University, O. Beketov Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University, V. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Uzhhorod National University and presented their experience of cooperation with the partners.
