TNMU Established Technology and Innovation Support Centre

On June 16, 2023, Ternopil National Medical University established Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC). On this day, the Rector of TNMU, Professor Mykhaylo Korda, and the Deputy Director of the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation, Ihor Parenchuk, signed a memorandum of cooperation. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Patent and Information Department, Associate Professor Andrii Pavlyshyn, the Head of the Department for the Development of the Network of Technology and Innovation Support Centres of the Department for the Development of Innovative and Creative Sectors of the IP Office, Anastasia Yarmoliuk, and the representative of the Intellectual Property Academy Department of the IP Office, Olha Kronda.

Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) is an international project to support inventions, innovations and start-up projects. It was created for the purpose of providing information and legal support to inventors, authors, and creators through the emerging network.

The purpose of the centre includes:

– carrying out active educational activities on issues of intellectual property law and economics;

– providing access to knowledge and patent information, providing consultations in the field of intellectual property law, etc.;

– coordination of the activities of the TISC network;

– invitation of international speakers on intellectual property and innovative activities;

– educational activities together with speakers from TISC and the Department “Intellectual Property Academy” of the IP office;

– localization of methodical support for the activities of the TISC network and creation of methodical materials on the procedure for conducting TISC activities in the Ukrainian language.

TISC UKRNOIVI is a full-fledged technology and innovation support centre and an organizational hub for the development of the TISC network in Ukraine. Its support for regional projects of the TISC network will consist of the following: consultations and practical information assistance on the protection of intellectual property rights, as well as the search for effective ways of cooperation for the development of regional projects and opportunities to attract investment and financing, in particular, assistance in obtaining grant support for the development of the activities of the TISC network.

Establihing regional TISCs was aimed at providing assistance to local users, not only on the basis of higher educational institutions and scientific research institutions, but also on the basis of design bureaus, enterprises of various branches of the economy (for example, armaments and military equipment enterprises, IT companies, etc.), regional trade chambers of industry, specialized public organizations, large regional libraries that develop and carry out scientific activities and have great inventive potential, etc.

TISC helps innovators discover and develop new ideas in a community of like-minded innovators. Giving priority to the generation of innovative ideas in approaches to support of subjects of innovative activity, TISC provides them with information and legal support at any stage of the creation of an innovative project. The TISC network provides a deep interaction and a powerful innovation network for solutions to create and support an innovation ecosystem. In this way, the best Ukrainian talents will be activated and new and significant opportunities for economic and social development will be created, which will allow Ukraine to remain at the forefront of innovation in the future.
