TNMU Held the 66th Scientific and Applied Conference “Achievements of Clinical and Experimental Medicine”

On June 16-17, 2023, the concluding 66th scientific and applied conference “Achievements in Clinical and Experimental Medicine” was held at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.
The conference was organized in a mixed format. At first, the reports were delivered online.

At the next stage, the young scientists presented their achievements offline in the University administrative building.
According to tradition, the scientists reported on their achievements at break-out sessions in the following areas:
“Internal medicine, infectious diseases, psychiatry and neurology”

“Surgery, oncology, orthopaedics and traumatology”

“Achievements of modern dentistry”

“Protection of motherhood and child”, where obstetricians-gynaecologists and paediatricians presented their work

“Experimental medicine, morphology in normal and pathological conditions, achievements of modern pharmacy”, “Innovations in the higher medical school, review and analytical works”.

The plenary session was opened by the Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Ivan Klishch, who delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the Rector of our university, Professor Mykhaylo Korda. He noted that the organization of annual concluding scientific and applied conferences at the end of the academic year is a long-lasting tradition of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

At the plenary session, Iryna Sarapuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Paediatrics No. 2, spoke on the topic “Effectiveness of the neuro-developmental care in premature babies nursing”, Doctor of Medicine Petro Bodnar spoke about “Experience of surgical treatment of combined stenotic-occlusive lesion of extracranial arteries and arteries of the femoral-popliteal-tibial segment” and discussed a clinical case of a complex mine-explosive injury.
Dmytro Liashov, who represented our partners from Akkon University of Human Sciences (Berlin, Germany), reported on the joint project “Supporting health care in Ukraine in wartime conditions. Training, medical education and professional exchange through podcasts and on-site”. Professor Oleksandr Yashan spoke about the experience of providing assistance to our soldiers in his report on “Surgical rehabilitation of patients after acubarotrauma combined with perforative otitis media”.

During the event, the participants summarized the results of the theoretical, experimental and clinical scientific achievements of our staff in academic year 2022-2023 and singled out the achievements in the organization of research of the university’s departments.

At the end of the conference, the Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Ivan Klishch summed up the work and wished the participants new creative heights, success and further accomplishments.
