TNMU Held the 11th Scientific Symposium with International Participation “Immunopathology in Diseases of the Respiratory and Digestive Organs”

On October 12-13, 2023, TNMU hosted the 11th Scientific Symposium with International Participation “Immunopathology in diseases of the respiratory and digestive organs”. At the ceremonial opening, which took place in the administrative building of TNMU, the Vice-Rector for Research Ivan Klishch and the Director of the Health Care Department of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration Olha Yarmolenko made an opening speech.

During the work of the symposium, a plenary meeting and two breakout sessions were held. The symposium was organized in a hybrid format. It was also broadcast on the official YouTube channel of TNMU. In total, 184 participants were officially registered at the symposium. Thus, scholars and practicing specialists from all parts of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Lviv, Lutsk, Chernivtsi, etc., had the opportunity to present their work. The international community was represented by leading scientists and doctors from Poland.
During the meetings, more than 80 scientific reports were presented and discussed. Based on the materials of the symposium, a collection of scientific papers “Immunopathology in diseases of the respiratory and digestive organs” was published.
The topics of the symposium covered a wide range of problems and were related to diagnostics and treatment of immunopathology in respiratory, gastroenterological and other diseases at the modern stage.
During the plenary session, scientists presented a number of reports:
– Professor Igor Hospodarskyy: “Steatohepatitis in patients with normal body weight: new challenges of diagnosis and treatment”;

  • – Professor Serhii Zaikov (President of the Association of Allergists of Ukraine, Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine): “International Consensus on Allergy and Rhinology 2023: Approaches to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis”;
  • – Professor Leonid Hryshchuk (TNMU): “Probiotics in post-Covid dysbiosis”;
  • – Professor Oksana Boyarchuk (TNMU) “Hereditary angioedema: diagnosis and treatment.”

The report of the director of Edmund Wojtyla Lesser Poland Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases and Rehabilitation, (Jaroszowiec, Polska) Krzysztof Grzesik “Wyzwania, prępyze, szeczysza i przemyślą rehabilitacji płuke w dobie pocovidowej, zanieczyszczeń powierta, globalizacji i wojny na Ukrainie” was specifically interesting. The issue of modern methods of rehabilitation of patients with lung diseases, as well as tuberculosis patients, was revealed.

The report of Professor Yurii Valetskyi (Volyn Medical Institute) was devoted to the modern problems of the fight against tuberculosis in Ukraine.

The participants of the symposium also were presented other interesting and relevant reports.
