TNMU Student Delivered Lecture about Risks and Precautions of Tattoos

In pursuit of current trends and an effort to attract peers’ attention, today’s teenagers recklessly do certain manipulations with their bodies, such as tattoos and piercings. Due to ignorance and haste in making decisions, they risk catching various infections. In order to warn the younger generation against reckless steps, on October 19, 2023, an instructive lecture on the topic “Tattoo: pros and cons” was held for ninth-grade students of Rivne Lyceum No. 23. The event was initiated by the 4th-year student of TNMU Faculty of Medicine Daryna Yuziuk. 

The main goal of the event was to inform the schoolchildren about the medical aspects of the impact of tattoos on the human body, as well as with the risks of complications after the tattooing procedure.

Lyceum students actively participated in the discussion of the issue, identified the pros and cons of tattooing. They came to the conclusion that behind beauty, confidence, and high self-esteem there may be diseases, rejection and condemnation of others, pain, and the desire to remove the image very much desired before. Therefore, the responsibility for choosing whether or not to make a tattoo on their own body lies directly with them.
