Participants of TNMU “Box of Courage” Project Presented Delightful Surprise for Children

On December 5, 2023, on the eve of St. Nicholas Day, student volunteers who are participants in the “Box of Courage” charity project visited the Oncohematology Department of the Ternopil City Children’s Hospital, to give festive cheer and gifts to children with cancer undergoing treatment and medical staff. Students Ilona Kohut (MM-303), Maksym Kaleniuk (MM-303), Nazarii Krulyk (MM-473), Tetiana Shevchuk (MM-320), Daryna Yuziuk (MM-416), Marharyta Trokhymenko (MM-416), brothers Avnish and Gurnish Panesar (IM-536, IM-648) talked with the children in the wards and handed over sweet gifts.

Traditionally, future doctors replenished the “Box of Courage” with new toys, brought books donated by a girl who won a “Bookstore Yes” certificate in a charity lottery.

The project team is grateful to everyone who helped raise funds during the charity events organized in the fall semester. This visit was a shining example of how small actions can make a big difference in the hearts of those seeking support and hope in the fight against a serious illness.

Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology, Immunology and project coordinator Olena Pokryshko joined the visit to the hospital.
