Students of Ternopil Law Lyceum Spent One Day at TNMU

On April 11, 2024, students of the senior classes of Ternopil Law Lyceum No. 2 visited TNMU.

Arkadii Shulhai, TNMU Vice-Rector for Science and Education, addressed the high school students with a welcome speech. Ihor Drach, Executive Secretary of TNMU Admissions Committee, spoke about the features of the 2024 admissions campaign.

During the meeting, the teachers of the Ternopil Law Lyceum No. 2 proudly noted that two graduates of their institution – Maria Solomatina and Viktoria Hural – study at Ternopil National Medical University. Both girls were successful in their studies and passed the National Multisubject Test with high scores.

According to the program of the visit, the students visited the Institute of Morphology, where they had the opportunity to meet and talk with the organizers and participants of the teaching process – teachers and students.

The guests were greeted by the Head of the Department of Histology and Embryology Professor Zoia Nebesna and Assistant Professor Natalia Ohinska. They prepared an interesting and informative tour of the lecture halls, the morphological sector of the interdepartmental educational and research laboratory, demonstrated modern medical equipment used in the teaching process and for conducting scientific research in the field of histology (in particular, light-optical and electron microscopes, etc.). The students also learned about the academic courses taught at the department.

Tetiana Henyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Anatomy, spoke about anatomy as an academic course and its role in the training of a medical specialist and invited our guests to the anatomical museum, where they, looking at rare exhibits, learned a lot of interesting things about the structure of the human body. Also, the teacher focused the students’ attention on the specifics of the organization of the teaching process at the department, in particular, she emphasized the wide use of innovative teaching methods that make it possible to use new technologies.

Associate Professor of the Department of Pathological Anatomy, Forensic Medicine and Autopsy Course Ihor Yuryk told the schoolchildren about the academic course taught at the department and their importance in the practical activities of future specialists in the field of medicine, about the peculiarities of the work of a pathologist, and led a tour of the museum of macropreparations.

The students were accompanied, assisted and told about the university everyday activities by mentors Liubov Rudko and Olha Klimova (SS-207).
