TNMU Held Meeting with Cyber Police Representatives
At Ternopil National Medical University, meetings with employees of the cyber police department have become traditional. They teach teachers and students of our university safety rules. Thus, on April 16, 2024, the inspector of the cybercrime countermeasures department in the Ternopil region of the cyber police department of the National Police of Ukraine, Sofia Tsezaruk delivered a lecture for representatives of TNMU on the fight against crimes on the Internet.

The guest drew attention to the implementation of the joint project of volunteers and the cyber police called “BRAMA (GATE)”. According to inspector Sofia Tsezaruk, “BRAMA” is a synergy of citizens, private and public sectors in countering disinformation and illegal content in the information space. The project’s activities are aimed at protecting the media space from Russian propaganda, blocking disinformation channels, illegal and prohibited content. It also aims to improve the media literacy of Ukrainians and reduce the influence of propaganda on society.

The second part of the lecture was devoted to the discussion of media literacy on the Internet, as well as cyber hygiene and online fraud. The lecturer gave many examples from administrative and criminal proceedings about various fraudulent schemes in cyberspace, noting that in difficult wartime, the population seeks “quick money”. This desire very often leads to negative consequences: loss of money, property and health.

Students and university staff had the opportunity to receive qualified answers to questions that arose during the lecture.
