- promoting the development of professional standards for nurses;
- improving the training of students in programs of pre-higher and higher medical education;
- strategic directions of nursing development according to WHO standards.

Kateryna Komar informed the participants of the event that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and WHO are actively working on creating a new model of nursing, which includes professional development and empowerment of nurses. She emphasized the importance of forming priority labour functions and actions, and also discussed key issues for creating professional standards, taking into account international experience and the relevance of standards for the next five years.

In her report, Director of the Academic and Research Institute of Nursing, Svitlana Danchak, spoke about the educational opportunities of the field of nursing at Ternopil National Medical University. She emphasized the need to create a continuum of nurses in Ukraine with higher education of the first, second and third levels and presented statistical data that indicate an insufficient number of nurses in the labour market.

At a working panel with practicing nurses, head and senior nurses of the Ternopil region, Svitlana Danchak answered common questions related to the possibilities of training nurses on advanced training courses and undergoing specialization in nursing in connection with obtaining a license to conduct postgraduate education in this field in TNMU.
