TNMU 6th-Year Students Met with Combat Medics

On May 30, 2024, the sixth-year students of TNMU Faculty of Medicine met with combat medics of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Luna” and “Aramis”. The meeting was hosted by Ternopil National Medical University.

The conversation about the peculiarities of providing first aid to the wounded in the conditions of hostilities was carried out in the form of an active and constructive dialogue, during which the future graduates of the medical university supplemented their own theoretical knowledge, got acquainted with content of the individual first-aid kit of a military serviceman, and learned about the expediency and effectiveness of using a number of medicines.

Combat medics taught students the correct use of haemostatic tourniquets, haemostatic bandages, markers, etc., illustrating the information with examples from their own experience. They paid special attention to the MARCH protocol. Compliance with the sequence of execution of its main points significantly reduces the probability of a wounded person dying on the battlefield.

“Luna” and “Aramis” also talked about the role and place of combat medics in the units of the Armed Forces, and emphasized the importance of training at military departments.

The sincerity and frankness of our guests did not leave the audience indifferent. Students actively communicated, asked questions to which they received clear and truthful answers.

We thank the organizers of the meeting, and we wish our guests God’s grace and protection on the battlefield!

Glory to Ukraine!
