TNMU Scientists Took Part in the Webinar “Ukraine: Developing Transnational Access to European Research Infrastructures in the Social Sciences and Humanities”
On October 1, 2024, Ternopil National Medical University representatives joined the “Ukraine: Developing Transnational Access to European Research Infrastructures in the Social Sciences and Humanities” webinar.

The event was dedicated to Ukraine’s participation in European research infrastructures in the social sciences and humanities, as well as the support of research communities in Ukraine and research infrastructure development.
Ukrainian researchers have joined the following European Research Infrastructure Consortiums (ERICs):
- CLARIN (the Italian Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure). Olha Kanishevska presented a report “CLARIN: Presenting the K‐centre for Ukrainian NLP and corpora”;
- EHRI (European Holocaust Research Infrastructure). Sofiia Dyak – “Research, Networking and Public Outreach in EHRI and Open Heritage.”
Ukraine’s challenges in creating its research infrastructure and the issue of legislative regulation of interaction with ERICs were discussed.
In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) called on research infrastructures to implement support measures for the Ukrainian research community. These measures include facilitating access, ensuring lifelong learning, and more significant support for transnational access to research infrastructures through the Horizon Europe Programme. The European Commission announced the competition in the Horizon Europe Program to assess the state of research infrastructure in Ukraine.
The report of the Horizon2020 “Eurizon” program was presented. Thanks to its financial support, Professor Oksana Shevchuk studied for the Master’s degree “Executive Master in Management of Research Infrastructure” at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

Also, a Danish Research Council NWO representative reported on a joint initiative with the National Research Foundation of Ukraine NOW-NRFU Partnership.

As part of this initiative, Professor Oksana Boyarchuk joined the project under the leadership of Professor Frank Staal, “CURE4LIFE: Development and Social Impact of Stem Cell-Based Genetic Medicines” of Leiden University School of Medicine.
