A Charity Fair at TNMU
Every year, TNMU organizes a charity fair in honor of the Defender and Defendress of Ukraine Day. This long-standing tradition brings together students and faculty from various departments with the aim of supporting charitable initiatives. All participants meticulously prepare for the event, offering visitors the best homemade dishes and baked goods, often made from family recipes. The funds are directed to meet the needs of our defenders.

This year, the fair took place on October 1, 2024. In the administrative building, faculty and students from the medical and pharmaceutical faculties joined forces to prepare a wide array of treats, including a large selection of cakes, pastries, cupcakes, doughnuts, juices, jellies, and more. The Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing staff organized the fair near their academic building and in the simulation training center.

In addition to sweets, visitors could enjoy sandwiches of various kinds, tartlets with different fillings, and other delicious savory snacks. Students of group MM-322 showcased dishes from all over Ukraine: Ternopil cheesecake, Kharkiv pizzas, Melitopol sandwiches, spinach rolls from Kherson, homemade pickles from Mykolaiv, and tartlets from Crimean students. This group is unique because it comprises young Ukrainians from different cities currently occupied or experiencing active conflict. Their mentor, Anna Mykolenko, shared that all her students are active, united, and eager to participate in all university and city charitable initiatives. According to the students, it is important for them to contribute to such a noble cause supporting Ukraine’s defenders.

Professor Larysa Fedonyuk and students from group MM-104 prepared a series of healing beverages made from Ukrainian herbs, berries, and fruits.

The variety of dishes, sweets, and drinks was so vast that it’s hard to list them all. We want to thank everyone who made a significant effort to participate in the fair and donated funds to TNMU’s Center for Educational Work and Cultural Development.

The Faculty of Pharmacy also consistently participates in charitable events and demonstrates excellent teamwork. A sincere thank you to the faculty members and the 1st and 4th-year students.

Unsold treats were delivered by volunteers to the Ternopil Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital, where Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
Together, the medical and pharmaceutical faculties and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing raised 118,000 UAH for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

A heartfelt thank you to the directors of the institutes, department heads, and academic group mentors who organized students and staff to participate in the fair. Thanks to the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Social Issues, Professor Oleh Slaby, and Nina Vostrilkova, the administrative building’s supervisor, for supporting the event.
