On All Saints’ Day, TNMU Honored Fallen Defenders of Ukraine

On November 1, 2024, Ternopil National Medical University students and faculty gathered in the main hall, praying to honor all who died for Ukraine’s independence.

As Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine continues, TNMU is regularly mourning its graduates and students who have taken up arms to defend our country. Many others, including faculty members, are still fulfilling their military duties. This week, the university once again received the tragic news of the loss of another alumnus, Ivan Popil.

TNMU chaplain Ihor Drapak held a memorial service, praying that all of Ukraine’s fallen defenders may receive God’s mercy and that their souls may find peace. He also reminded everyone present that honoring Ukraine’s heroes is one way to strengthen national consciousness and unity. He highlighted the legacy of one iconic figure, Andreyi Sheptytskyi, who passed away on November 1, 1944. His entire life was devoted to Ukraine and the Church.
