Mobile Blood Donation at the TNMU Simulation Training Center

On October 29, 2024, DonorUA organized a mobile blood donation at the simulation training center of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University as part of the #Rozkvitai campaign.

The event targeted first-time donors, but regular donors were present to support newcomers by example. 39 people donated blood for military personnel and civilians, with 25 of them donating for the first time. Specialists from the Ternopil Regional Blood Service Center collected the blood. The event was co-organized with the TNMU simulation training center.

Students from our university actively participated in the donation, serving as volunteers, including Nazar Krulyk (MM-573), Rostyslav Katrychuk (Pbv-231), Olha Khrupailo, Mariia Ventsyk, Vadym Khoma, and Yuliia Shydlivska (Pbv-232). Volunteers helped register donors, answered questions, provided refreshments, and supported newcomers. The students’ warm smiles and the atmosphere of mutual support created a special mood, inspiring participants.

Prizes at the event included a power bank from the Ukrainian brand Gelius, a campaign #Rozkvitai-branded T-shirt by W8less, a textbook “Prehospital Trauma Care” signed by co-author Halyna Tsymbaliuk, and patches featuring the TESIMED simulation center logo.

As part of the #Rozkvitai campaign, mobile donations, themed lectures, and donor support events are held, along with the release of stylish charity merchandise. Just before this donation, a workshop titled “Management of Patients with Hemorrhagic Shock: Prehospital and Early Hospital Stage Transfusion” was conducted by Roman Huk, an Assistant in the Department of Emergency and Simulation Medicine.

The project again demonstrated that donating blood can be easy, comfortable, and modern.

DonorUA organized the event with the support of ISAR Ednannia under the “Sectoral Support Initiative for Ukrainian Civil Society” project, implemented by ISAR Ednannia in consortium with the Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research (UCIPR) and the Center for Democracy and Rule of Law (CEDEM) with the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development.
