TNMU Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Ternopil Regional Blood Service Center

On November 6, 2024, the Rector of Ternopil National Medical University, Professor Mykhailo Korda, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Vasyl Khominets, the General Director of the Ternopil Regional Blood Service Center. The document aims to consolidate efforts to promote voluntary blood donation. Joint initiatives will include informational and educational campaigns, events, and activities at Ternopil National Medical University to foster a culture of donation.

Vasyl Khominets noted that the Ternopil Regional Blood Service Center is renewing its longstanding partnership with TNMU. “There is a critical need for various blood types in Ukraine due to the ongoing war. It’s difficult to predict exactly which blood types and quantities will be needed at any given time, as hospital demands constantly change. To meet healthcare facilities’ needs for donor blood, we are creating a donor registry and actively recruiting new donors,” said the director.

Mykhailo Korda added that Ternopil Medical University consistently participates in all initiatives promoting voluntary blood donation.
