TNMU Collects Nearly a Ton of Recyclable Paper for Charity

From October 7 to November 11, 2024, Ternopil National Medical University organized a charity campaign to collect recyclable paper. The initiative was spearheaded by students Viktoriia Lehka (MM-609) and Adriana Humeniuk (MM-626). Students, faculty, and university administration actively participated in the project.

Recyclable materials were collected at multiple locations: the administrative building and the lobbies of dormitories №1, №2, №3, and №4. Items such as old notebooks, newspapers, books, and promotional materials were accepted.

The funds raised from the campaign were directed toward supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), where several TNMU students and lecturers are currently serving.

The joint efforts of the TNMU community contributed significantly to environmental conservation and support for Ukrainian soldiers. Special thanks were extended to the departments of Physiology with Fundamentals of Bioethics and Biosafety, Surgical Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, as well as fifth-year students, for their active involvement in the campaign.

Student Yuliia Yurchuk (MM-609) was also acknowledged for her crucial assistance in sorting the collected paper.

The campaign collected 910 kg of recyclable paper, generating 4020 UAH. These funds will support the “Christmas Miracle for the Defender” project, which aims to provide essential items for military personnel, including medications, medical supplies, and hygiene products. This includes aid for five TNMU students currently serving in the AFU.

Students living in dormitories and building supervisors were key in promoting the campaign and the dormitory. They actively documented the collection process through photographs shared with the project organizers, Adriana Humeniuk and Viktoriia Lehka. These photos became a significant aspect of the campaign, showcasing student engagement and their active contributions.

Through this initiative, TNMU demonstrated a strong commitment to social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and support for those defending Ukraine.
