Scientific Debate: “Artificial Intelligence – a Threat or an Aid to Medical Professionals?”

On January 21, 2025, the Scientific Society of Students at Ternopil National Medical University hosted an English-language debate on the pressing topic: “Is Artificial Intelligence a Threat or an Aid to Medical Professionals?” The event brought together international and Ukrainian students, showcasing a high English proficiency level.

As per tradition, participants were divided into two teams: “For” and “Against.” Both sides demonstrated exceptional preparation, impressing the audience with well-founded arguments and analytical approaches. After presenting evidence to support their positions, the teams engaged in discussions and counterarguments, where they had the opportunity to challenge their opponents’ claims.

Thanks to the esteemed jury members — Vice-Deans of the Faculty of International Students, Oksana Lebid and Oleksandr Tokarskyi—for evaluating the teams’ performances. Following a series of arguments and questions, the jury unanimously declared the “For” team winners. The victory was secured by a narrow margin, underscoring the exceptional quality of both teams’ preparation.

This event was a remarkable demonstration of the power of intellectual dialogue and teamwork. Congratulations to all participants for their brilliant performances and to the winners for their well-deserved triumph!
