National Patriotic Event for Ukraine Unity Day Organized by the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics with Drug Technology
On January 22, 2025, in honor of Ukraine Unity Day, the staff of the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics with Drug Technology, together with students, gathered in the library of Ternopil National Medical University to mark the 106th anniversary of a significant event for Ukrainians—the unity of Ukrainian lands from West to East—and to reflect on the value of the lives of soldiers who continue to sacrifice for the unity, sovereignty, and independence of our nation.

The traditional educational event began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem of Ukraine. Throughout the event, students reminded attendees of the events that took place in January 1918 and 1919. They also recited poems by contemporary poets dedicated to Unity Day.

Students Alina Rivna and Diana Popovska, Orysia Klitna, and Oksana Zakharko introduced attendees to a selection of works by contemporary poets such as Vitalii Chepizhnyi, Valeria Kropyvna, Antonina Pidmohylna, and Liubov Kurhanska. These works highlighted the unity and resilience of the Ukrainian people, conveying the tragedy of the tumultuous times during the fight for independence.

Student Valeriia Volosiuk prepared a presentation titled “10 Interesting Facts About Ukraine Unity Day”, which helped attendees analyze the challenging path Ukrainians have taken and draw parallels with current events.

During the event’s interactive segment, all participants actively participated in a quiz-quest. Two teams, “United Ukraine” and “Free Ukraine,” competed by answering crossword questions, solving Ukrainian proverbs and sayings using “word clouds,” and identifying performers and titles of Ukrainian songs at the final station, “Song – the Soul of the Nation.”

The event concluded with a national-patriotic performance of Khrystyna Solovii’s song “Ukrainian Fury,” presented by the star of the event—Kateryna Lipka, the golden voice of TNMU’s Faculty of Pharmacy.

The event organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the director of the TNMU library, Olena Protsiv, and her staff for their support and technical assistance and for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the occasion.
