Masters of TNMU Participated in a Webinar on the Use of 3D Technologies in Limb Prosthetics

Students of TNMU enrolled in the master’s program “Prosthetics and Orthotics” took part in the Protez Hub community webinar titled “Digital Design and Additive Manufacturing of Prosthetic Sockets.”

The Protez Hub team is making significant efforts to train prosthetics and orthotics specialists in Ukraine. Events conducted by experienced professionals in this field play a crucial role in preparing prosthetists-orthotists, fostering their professional development, mastering modern techniques, and integrating advanced technologies into practice.

Katie Maria Leatherwood, a certified prosthetist-orthotist, led the webinar. She actively applies 3D technologies in prosthetics and implements innovative prosthetics and orthotics methods in Latvia.

During the webinar, participants explored different types of 3D printing used in prosthetics and orthotics, modern materials for this process, and the specifics of using 3D scanners. They also learned about software and digital design for manufacturing prosthetic sockets using 3D technologies.

At the end of the session, Katie Maria Leatherwood offered consultations and support for prosthetic manufacturing facilities in Ukraine while implementing 3D technologies in their workflow.

TNMU representatives sincerely thank Antonina Kumka, General Director of Protez Hub, for the invitation to this event.
