International Mother Language Day at TNMU

On February 21, 2025, Ukrainian and international students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University organized an event in honor of International Mother Language Day. The celebration took place in the TNMU library, where two teams competed to showcase their knowledge of Ukrainian and English.

The team “Krylatí” included Maria Romanska (MM-106), Melisa Meryem Shevchuk (MM-106), Denys Pirktinsh (MM-104), Valentyna Tumanova (MM-104), and Anastasiia Radko (MM-508). The second team, “United Voices,” consisted of Ogunmola Esther Omoyemi (IM-428), Sneha Suresh (IM-539), Sunil Lakshmipriya (IM-539), Ankeksh Gupta (IM-529), and Shreyoshree Sheel (IM-427).

The event was held in the format of an intellectual game. The participants competed in various challenges, including “Quiz,” “Brainstorm,” and “Song Kaleidoscope.” They also recited poems in their native languages in the “Word That Unites” segment. By the end of the competition, both teams had earned an equal number of points.

The hosts of the evening were Albina Pylypchuk (MM-314) and Omodamiro Temidayo Adebusola (IM-539).

It is worth noting that this intimate intellectual gathering left a lasting impression, highlighting TNMU students’ knowledge, their pride in their mother tongues, and their ability to showcase the beauty of language.
