Latin Language Olympiad at TNMU

On March 13, 2025, the Department of Foreign Languages at I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University organized the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the discipline “Latin Language and Medical Terminology.” The Olympiad was attended by 29 first-year students from the Medical and Dental Faculties.

The event was organized by Professor Nadiia Fedchyshyn, Associate Professors Halyna Palasyuk, and Tetiana Savaryn, who prepared tasks classified by difficulty levels. A notable innovation of this year’s Olympiad included competitive tasks, like closed-type test questions, open-ended tasks, and creative assignments. The tasks were based on understanding the significance of developing terminological competence for future doctors and the defining role of Latin as the international language of science.

The jury for evaluating the competition work comprised Professor Nadiia Fedchyshyn (Chair of the Jury), Associate Professors Halyna Palasyuk, Tetiana Savaryn, Ivanna Vorona, and Roman Kotsiuba.
