TNMU Professor Participated in the 35th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID Global 2025) in Vienna
The 35th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID Global 2025) took place on April 11–15, 2025, in Vienna, Austria. Professor Leonid Hryshchuk from the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine and Phthisiology at TNMU participated in the event.

The congress opened with a welcome address by Robert Leo Skov, President of ESCMID.
The congress brought together more than 12,000 delegates from over 140 countries. The presentations highlighted the results of research in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.

On April 13, 2025, Leonid Hryshchuk took part in the work of the ESCMID Study Group for Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance (ESGARS), which unites clinical microbiologists, infectious disease specialists, and researchers to actively monitor antimicrobial resistance.

Various sectional meetings addressed the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, particularly drug-resistant forms of the disease. These forms of tuberculosis are caused by mycobacteria that are resistant to multiple medications. Overcoming drug-resistant tuberculosis is a complex challenge due to the limited treatment options available. Therefore, the experience of organizing tuberculosis control services in other countries is of great importance for specialists from Ukraine.
