Meeting Held at TNMU as Part of the All-Ukrainian Scientific Project “Student to Student”

On April 16, 2025, Ternopil National Medical University hosted another event within the framework of the All-Ukrainian scientific project “Student to Student.” This project was launched in 2021 at Kharkiv National Medical University at the initiative of the university’s administration and Professor I. Knyazkova, and since then, weekly sessions have been open to all participants and listeners.

Every year, frequent guests and lecturers of the project include representatives from leading medical institutions across Ukraine: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Ternopil, Bukovyna, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Sumy. This year, TNMU students once again had the honor to participate.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Professor Nataliia Savelieva, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Kharkiv National Medical University; Professor Arkadii Shulhai, Vice-Rector for Science and Education of TNMU; and Professor Ivan Klishch, Vice-Rector for Research. The speakers emphasized that the unique feature of this project is that students themselves act as lecturers, delivering presentations from all over Ukraine. This approach allows for deeper discussions of complex clinical cases, current advances in clinical medicine, and, most importantly, active engagement of medical students in the educational process.

The event was moderated by Professor Nadiia Yarema of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 1, who highlighted the enthusiasm and high level of preparation demonstrated by the motivated student body. The detailed clinical case studies, along with analysis of modern international and national guidelines for patient management, made the session extremely informative, useful, and engaging.

Presentations were delivered by TNMU students:
Nadiia Stratiuk, a 4th-year student, who presented “Arterial Hypertension: Key Principles and Treatment Features in Pregnant Women.”
Uliana Naumova, a 5th-year student, who presented “Criteria for Diabetes Compensation in Pregnant Women.”

Following the presentations, Professor Yarema noted the students’ excellent preparation and confident command of the material. She also reminded the audience that all lectures are archived and can be viewed at any time on the YouTube platform of Kharkiv National Medical University.
