TNMU Instructors Taught Ternopil School Students the Basics of First Aid

On April 24, 2025, as part of “Safety Week,” ninth-grade students from Ternopil Specialized School No. attended a training session conducted by instructors of the Lifestrand project under the Erasmus+ program, focusing on first aid skills. The schoolchildren learned basic life support algorithms, techniques for controlling bleeding, how to respond to airway obstructions, and how to provide first aid in simulated emergency situations.

The training took place at the Simulation Training Center of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. The session was conducted by junior trainers of the project — medical students Nazarij Krulyk, Oksana Petryshyn, Yuliana Skip, and Dina Shozda. The training was presented in an accessible and interactive format: participants not only listened and observed but also asked many interesting questions and, of course, received detailed answers.

The students practiced the action algorithms independently, understanding that they could save someone’s life in a critical situation. The trainers gained valuable experience working with the younger generation. It was especially encouraging that some students expressed a desire to continue their education at our medical university after finishing school.

We sincerely thank our young Lifestrand project instructors and all participants for their engagement, eagerness to learn, and the pleasant atmosphere during the course.
