Objective Structured Clinical Examination for 3rd- and 4th-Year Dental Faculty Students
The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a modern method for assessing the practical knowledge and skills of higher education students. The purpose of this examination is to evaluate clinical proficiency and competence. The OSCE assesses not only theoretical knowledge but also the ability to apply it in real clinical scenarios.
The methodology, conditions, and assessment criteria used in the OSCE fully complied with current regulatory standards. OSCE stations were organized in the phantom classroom and clinical halls of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry.

Third-year dental students took the OSCE between April 23–25, 2025, covering therapeutic, orthopedic, and surgical dentistry.

Fourth-year dental students sat the OSCE between April 9–11, 2025, in the following disciplines: therapeutic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, internal medicine, and surgical diseases.
The exam featured clinical scenarios that closely resembled real-life conditions: students performed physical examinations, carried out medical procedures on simulation mannequins, interpreted diagnostic test results, and more. Their communication skills with patients were also evaluated simultaneously.

The exam results provided not only an assessment of students’ practical skill levels but also valuable insights into areas for improving the practical training of future dental professionals.
We sincerely thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for making it possible to continue teaching and learning.
