TNMU Students Taught Schoolchildren How Vitamins Become Superheroes for Mental Health

May is recognized worldwide as Mental Health Awareness Month — and we didn’t stand aside from this important topic. Today, students of the Medical Faculty of Ternopil National Medical University — Veronika Kichula, Liliia Vlokh, and Maksym Ivaskiv — together with Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages Mariia Kichula and school psychologist Andrii Vyshniovskyi, delivered an interactive lecture for 7th-grade students at Anhelivka Secondary School “Food for the Mind: How Vitamins Become Superheroes for Mental Health.”

During the lecture, the students introduced the pupils to the fascinating world of vitamins — not only as immunity boosters, but also as key players in regulating our emotional well-being, stress resilience, and overall sense of happiness.

The interactive format allowed students not just to listen, but to actively participate:

Sharing favorite recipes to support energy and focus.

Quizzes on vitamin knowledge and their functions;

Team discussions about mood-boosting foods;

We concluded the event with a shared understanding that taking care of our mental health starts with simple but important steps — like proper nutrition and being mindful of what we consume.

Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us: to be in harmony with ourselves, we must care not only for our emotions but also for what we eat.
