Visit of Ternopil National Medical University Delegation to the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
During a visit to London, a delegation from Ternopil National Medical University met with Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The meeting with the Ambassador addressed issues of education in Ukrainian universities during wartime, particularly:
- The importance of enabling students from Ukrainian universities to study abroad through international academic mobility programs.
- Ensuring access to higher education for Ukrainians who left the country due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and cannot return, including Ukrainian high school graduates abroad.
Rector Mykhailo Korda thanked the Ambassador for supporting the establishment of the university’s representative office in London. This office will:
Create a support network for the Ukrainian academic diaspora, organizing cultural and educational events, and promoting Ukrainian language, history, and culture.
Promote the development of Ukrainian medical education and its integration into the global educational space.
Enhance the international reputation of Ukrainian universities.
Open new opportunities for expanding international collaboration, including joint academic programs, student and faculty exchanges, and international research to drive medical innovation.
Strengthen partnerships with British universities, facilitating knowledge sharing and harmonization of educational standards.
Preserve national identity and cultural ties with Ukraine for students studying abroad.

Ambassador Valerii Zaluzhnyi agreed to deliver lectures for TNMU students on:
- The organization of medical services in the military.
- Challenges of providing medical care during wartime.
- Critical issues of Ukraine’s national security.
At the end of the meeting, Valerii Fedorovych signed a Ukrainian flag for the university and presented his book, “My War” (“Moya Viyna”).
