Meeting with Prospective Applicants to the PhD Program in Nursing

In order to promote and further develop the PhD Program in Nursing, an online meeting with prospective applicants and stakeholders of the educational and scientific program was held on May 19, 2025. The event gathered around 50 participants interested in the opportunities and prospects of obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy degree.

The educational and scientific program in the specialty 223 “Nursing” has been implemented at Ternopil National Medical University since 2018. Since its launch, five domestic postgraduate students have successfully completed the program and earned their PhDs. In addition, the program currently includes international students from the United States pursuing their doctoral studies in nursing.

The participants were welcomed by Ivan Klishch, Vice-Rector for Research, who highlighted the successful implementation of the program at TNMU, ongoing efforts to promote the PhD in Nursing, and shared insights into the university’s broader research directions and opportunities available specifically for nursing PhD students.

Ihor Drach, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, provided details on the 2025 admission campaign, including updates on the admission process, the requirement for registration at higher education institutions, the list of entrance exams, and the deadline for registrationMay 23, 2025.

Nataliia Potikha, Head of the Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Department, explained the features of postgraduate education, including a list of required admission documents and application procedures.

Professor Mariia Marushchak, Program Director, outlined the development stages of the PhD program at the university, its achievements, and future directions. She emphasized that free consultations are available from the program director and members of the working group for applicants who register for the program.

Liudmyla Mazur spoke about the extensive international collaboration between TNMU staff and foreign institutions in the field of nursing, and how the results of these partnerships are integrated into the teaching process.

Khrystyna Novak-Mazepa, a graduate of the program, shared her personal experience, highlighting the advantages of studying in the program, career growth opportunities, and encouraged others to pursue a PhD in Nursing at TNMU.
