Dissertation Defense on the Study “Peculiarities of the Course of Acute Peritonitis in the Context of Obesity (Experimental Study)”
On May 22, 2025, in the meeting hall of the specialized academic councils of Ternopil National Medical University, Nataliia Malevych defended her dissertation to earn the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of “Health Care,” specialty “Medicine.” The research was supervised by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Zoia Nebesna.
The dissertation “Peculiarities of the Course of Acute Peritonitis in the Context of Obesity (Experimental Study)” is highly relevant to modern medicine and has significant scientific potential. The study aims to establish pathogenetic relationships and explore the development of new mechanisms and features in the progression of acute peritonitis under conditions of obesity. This was achieved through the assessment of dynamics in prooxidant-antioxidant and immune systems, markers of endogenous intoxication, nitro-oxidative stress, and structural-morphological changes in organs.
