A Public Lecture Delivered at TNMU by the Head of the School of Public Health at the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”

An online lecture was held at Ternopil National Medical University for students of the “Public Health” and “Management” specialties by Tetiana Yurochko, PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor, and Head of the School of Public Health at the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”. The lecture topic was “The Burden of Noncommunicable Diseases as One of the Key Public Health Challenges.” The invited speaker is a leading expert in healthcare reform and the development of public health in Ukraine.

The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study aims to assess the worldwide impact of diseases on population health, identify the main causes of death and disability, and evaluate the loss of productivity due to various diseases. It covers 286 causes of death, 369 diseases and injuries, and 87 risk factors across 204 countries and territories.

The lecture also addressed important issues related to the social and economic impact of the burden of noncommunicable diseases on the healthcare system.

The session was conducted in an interactive format and sparked a lively discussion between the lecturer and the students.
